This celebrated kettle with the bird that sings when the water has boiled has been a great success since it was introduced in 1985. For Alessi it represents a meeting of great design and mass production methods, a combination that Michael Graves worked hard to achieve, applying his personal visual code which fused influences from Art Deco to Pop Art and even the language of cartoons. This object appeared in the movies: Mr. Crocodile Dundee (Crocodile Dundee, P.Faiman, 1986), Ghost (Ghost, J.Zucker, 1990), Alice (Alice, W.Allen, 1990), Amatemi (Amatemi, R. De Maria, 2005) and Per una notte d'amore (Per una notte d'amore, V. Sindoni, 2008).

Material and composition

Suitable for induction hobs.Designed by Michael Graves in 1984, this kettle is patented as to its aesthetic qualities. It is made in 18/10 with an AISI 430 steel base. The handle-cover, the knob and the whistle are in polyamide.

Care instructions

Please remember that leaving water in the kettle when not in use leads to the formation of limestone thus reducing the kettle efficiency. A mild anti-limestone product may be used periodically if necessary. Do not use detergents containing abrasives to clean the kettle and do not wash it in the dishwasher.

Warranty

This product is covered by a two-year warranty from the moment of sale. The warranty covers all manufacturing defects, damaged caused by accidental impact or improper use is therefore excluded. Alessi guarantees this product for two years from the date of purchase against defects attributable to the manufacturing process or the materials used. Goods under guarantee may be repaired or replaced subject to the unquestionable judgement of Alessi. Service assistance for goods under guarantee can be obtained solely on presentation of proof of purchase (the guarantee duly filled out by the retailer or a proper receipt). The guarantee does not cover accidental damage, improper use or negligence, or if the equipment has been tampered with by unauthorised persons. Remember that the correct and frequent maintenance prevent the formation of limescale (follow use instructions). Any equipment that proves to be faulty due to the presence of limescale is not covered by the guarantee.
